Revisiting some children’s book favourites

I blame the festive season for getting nostalgic about reading books with my children.

When I first wrote this post, we had been on a holiday to Italy, and we’d been doing some tidying up of stuff that we had left behind as we hadn’t been able to move it to England yet.

There are no two ways about it, I am a book hoarder in a big way. There are loads of children’s books that I just refuse to part with. My children are now 20 and 21 years old!

Looking at these books reminded me of many, many moments, well hours really of enjoyment.  I loved our reading time together.  The before bed story time.  The enthusiasm of the kids listening to me read these picture books.  When one picture book wasn’t enough.  We had to go through a small pile.

Watching my daughter go to the book shelf and come back to her bed with an arm load full of books to enjoy before she went off to sleep and dreamt her sweet dreams.

Below you will find a selection of some of the books that I found.

One of the books above was mine when I was a child.  Can you guess which one?

One thing that I really made the most of when I went back to university briefly when my kids were small was investing in books to read to my children.

Do you have a favourite book from your childhood?

Do you have a favourite book(s) that you’ve read to your children?
