Reflections on Christmas themed books

I decided to rework an old blog post that was one of my first posts on an old Blogger blog. So that is going back quite a few years.

The beginning of December often has me getting excited about Christmas. Plus my birthday is also in the first week of December too.

In years gone by, prior to my book blogging days, I would kick off the month by listening to Christmas carols and sometimes seeking out books based on the season.

In way I find it quite ironic that even though I was born in Australia, I warm to books that are set in winter settings over the Christmas period.

The first two books in this post are two that I have read quite a few times each. Although I don’t have a copy of the Christmas Mystery anymore. But I recently found The Gift in a charity shop.

Jostein Gaarder’s The Christmas Mystery is magical as it brings an Advent calendar to life.

I also love reading Cecilia Ahern’s The Gift.  This book makes you think about what is really important in your life.
